    Found on the 57-acre Expo Park is an 18-hole disc golf course, a recreation center, softball fields, several trails, tennis courts and numerous other areas. The trails connect Expo Park with other area recreation parks, including Cherry Creek State Park.

    Sand Creek Regional Greenway

    Sand Creek Regional Greenway is a 14 mi (22 km) pathway that connects Aurora with Commerce City. More than 50 mi (80 km) of additional trail systems wind their way through the area, welcoming people to run, bike, horseback ride and walk through the northern section of Metro Denver.

    Wheel Park Aurora

    Like the name suggests, Wheel Park was designed for people on wheels, like bikers, in-line skaters and skateboarders. Inside are bicycle ramps, motocross tracks, a remote control car area, in-line hockey rinks and a skateboarding bowl. It is open from 8am until sunset.

    More than a marsh, the Jewell Wetland boasts several trails, a butterfly garden and a boardwalk. The park is found amidst a 50-acre wooded area near Utah Park.

    Cherry Creek State Park

    Found between Denver and Aurora, Cherry Creek State Park is frequented throughout the year because of its model airplane flying field, shooting range and swimming beach. Inside is an 880-acre lake where anglers try their hand at catching trout, lass, pike and other fish. Other recreational activities welcomed include picnicking, hiking, camping and sailing. A concession stand and a rental stand are found near the lake and are open from May through September.
